Every Customer Has a Different Story

At Scooter99, we have learned that no two customers are exactly alike. Even when two people ask for the same sidecar, what they intend to do with it can be completely different.

One person might care most about the sidecar’s appearance. Another might be thinking about practicality. Someone else might have a very specific family adventure in mind.

That's why we don't believe in treating every sidecar as simply another product moving through an order system. We want to understand the person buying it.

And what would make the finished sidecar feel like it truly belongs to them? The answers to those questions can change everything.

Function First, But Never Function Alone

A sidecar needs to have intentionality in its design. It needs to be comfortable. It needs to conform to its passengers' needs. It needs to survive the realities of being used on the road.

But we also believe that practicality doesn't have to come at the expense of personality. In fact, the best designs are often the ones where the two become inseparable. A feature exists because it serves a purpose, but the way it is designed gives the vehicle character.

Because when a customer looks at their sidecar years later, we want them to remember why that particular detail exists. Another thing that makes Scooter99 so special is our attitude towards something new / strange. People aren’t afraid to come to us and explore their wild ideas together because that’s what we are trying to foster in this community; creativity. We are very open to discuss different ideas with our customers and discuss solutions to turn that idea into something tangible.

Practical Doesn't Have to Mean Ordinary

One of the examples of practicality turning into something memorable for everyone involved. One of our customers asked for one of our Bajajs to be attached with a retractable table. Something that can both be a wonder to display but also practical for use. He ended up using it as an actual table for his office.

This shows that some things may begin as practical problems, but they don't have to result in something that feels purely utilitarian. In the case of this particular Bajaj, we can see how something so mundane as a table is turned into something eye catching and memorable.

That's where our approach to customization comes in. We try to take the practical requirement and turn it into part of the character of the vehicle.

From Customers to Friends

Perhaps the most rewarding part of the job is what happens after everything is finished.

Sometimes customers send us photographs of their sidecars being used.

Those photographs mean something to us because they show the sidecar doing what it was meant to do: becoming part of someone's life. And occasionally, the relationship goes even further.

Some customers stay in touch long after their purchase. They call, send messages, discuss new ideas or simply catch up.

This is another example of when one of our customers decided to order a custom sidecar from us for his Vespa GTS 300. This was one such case where a customer enjoyed our services so much that he returned to us to make another sidecar for him.

He returned to us and requested a sidecar for his Honda Monkey. Here at Scooter99, we try to cultivate a tight knit community between clients. To build trust that lasts, and allows them to feel assured when working with us.
